HOMEMADE PITA CHIPS
Who doesn't love Pita Chips? They're crunchy and salty and delicious! They're also close to $5 a bag. These are much more affordable and even better!
Ingredients
- 2 whole wheat pita rounds (I used Toufayan)
- 1/4 c. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 2 t. garlic powder (more or less to taste)
- 1 big pinch of dried basil
- Grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Cut the pitas in eight slices like a pizza.
Open each “slice” and separate it, so that you only have one thickness in each triangle. Line the baking sheet with aluminum foil and spread out the triangles so that they’re in a single layer.
Mix olive oil, garlic and basil in a bowl and use a pastry brush to brush the oil mixture onto the triangles. I couldn’t find my pastry brush, so I used the back of a spoon and a silicone spatula. I really recommend using a brush.
When all the chips have been coated, sprinkle lightly with the parmesan cheese.
Put in the oven and bake. Mine were done in 7 minutes.
Let cool completely and then transfer to an airtight container lined with parchment.
Notes
I have no idea how long they'll last in the container. These get devoured immediately!
